“Thanks to Dr. Wilson and cataract surgery -
I have perfect vision”
“I am actively retired. I do a lot of reading, playing with the computer and working on cars. All of this takes good vision. I started to notice that my vision was becoming slightly impaired and my night vision was really getting poor. I went in for an eye exam right away and learned that I had cataracts. They told me I wouldn’t have to have cataract surgery for a year or so but I didn’t want to lose a year of good vision.”
“My natural lenses were replaced with my contact lens prescription at my request. Consequently in my left eye I see distance, and in my right eye I see up-close. It’s called monovision. People look at me strange when I say that because they think, how can you have one eye that’s for close and the other for distance. The old brain takes care of it, it makes it work. Consequently my vision is much sharper now. It has made a world of difference with my night vision. The staff was tremendous. They made me feel at ease and the whole procedure from time of check-in took less than two hours. I just can’t say enough good things about cataract surgery, Dr. Wilson and the staff at Eye Care Associates.”
Cataract Surgery
Our ophthalmic surgeons utilize the “no-stitch” technique to minimize discomfort and speed the recovery process. During the procedure, the cataract or clouded lens is removed through a tiny incision using a special piece of equipment and technique called a phacoemulsification. This instrument uses ultrasonic vibrations to break apart the natural lens and vacuum it from the eye. The foldable implant is then inserted through the small incision. Once inside, the implant unfolds and is placed into its permanent position. The incision that was created is so small that is seals itself and no stitches are required.
